Code Levels are used to place depth constraints on the coding structure and to give general meanings to each level of coding. By default, Symphony adds three code levels to new projects: Category, Issue, and Sub-Issue. Categories are broad groupings. Examples are Strategy, Management Model, and Governance. Issues are more specific groupings within Categories, and Sub-Issues are more specific.
When creating codes and moving content around, Symphony checks to see whether the update would violate the depth constraint, and disallows the operation if it does.
Modify a Code Level
If Category, Issue, and Sub-Issue are not appropriate terms for your project, you can change the captions by double-clicking the Code Levels in Standard View.
Add a Code Level
If you need to decompose your comments into more than three levels, you can add levels by selecting Insert/Code Level from the main menu.
Delete a Code Level
If you want to restrict coding to fewer levels, In Standard View select the Code Level to be deleted then choose Delete/Code Level from the main menu.
