| Flexible and Efficient Data Acquisition Enter interview comments directly into Symphony's content editor or drag and drop Word or Excel documents onto Symphony for fast batch import. Both coded and non-coded content can be imported. Symphony can harvest comments directly from interview documents -- even documents containing interview questions, instructions to the interviewer, and other "boiler plate".
Coding Made Easy Symphony provides extensive capabilities to create new codes and reorganize the coding structure on the fly, fully in line with emergent coding methodologies. Recognizing that coding is often a discovery process, Symphony makes it seamlessly easy to shift back and forth between coding and other tasks, without disrupting your creativity.
Advanced Analytics Symphony provides a variety of analysis tools to assist in both coding the content and reaching meaningful post-coding conclusions. Flexible Reporting Symphony outputs reports to Microsoft Word 2000 or later, or to Excel. With Word reports Symphony uses the document styles from your Word template or any Word document to produce custom reports that conform to your branding, document structure, and style preferences. The coding structure can be used to drive the table of contents. Advanced filtering enables you to specify virtually any cross-section of content from your project to be included in a report.
Round-Trip Content Editing After circulating a report for review, Symphony can identify edits performed by reviewers and automatically incorporate the changes back into your Symphony project.
As-You-Type Spell-Checker Symphony includes a built-in spell checker. Replacement words are suggested, and a personal dictionary is maintained for words that you add.
Advanced Interface Symphony provides various "views" of your content. Each view is optimized to perform certain tasks or to accommodate different work styles.
Portable Projects Symphony stores each project in its own file (with a .ca extension). This makes sharing of project data amongst Symphony users as simple as emailing the file.
Synchronization Service and Server For organizations where real-time collaboration and updating of projects is needed, Active Java can provide either synchronization services or an enterprise synchronization server. The service solution runs on a secure server hosted by Active Java and is suitable for most any size organization.
